Sump Systems

What are Sump Systems?

Sump Systems are used when we don’t have downhill slope, or the ability to use gravity to divert the unwanted water. We start by using a series of french drains or catch basins that all direct the water to one main location called a sump basin. From there we use a sump pump, which pushes the water to our desired location and out of an emitter.

What are The benefits of a Sump Systems?

Sump Systems give us the ability to direct water virtually anywhere we want it, all while staying underground. They are extremely reliable and low maintenance systems that can last for several years. They can also move an extremely large amount of water in a short span of time.

What are the drawbacks of a Sump System?

Sump systems require power to operate, so if the sump system is far from an outlet, power might have to be ran underground to the sump basin, which can be costly. If power is lost, the sump system won’t operate correctly. Permitting is also sometimes required for sump systems.
